Our Story

a family farm rooted in love, health, and the southern catskills

We believe a happy, healthy environment is the foundation of a good life. That philosophy guides everything we do, from raising our animals with care and intention to growing food that nourishes both body and soul.

Our journey began in a simple, personal way. We started with bees to help ease my husband Matt’s seasonal allergies, and to our surprise, it worked. The local pollen in the honey has helped lessen his symptoms, and along the way, we discovered a deeper appreciation for what nature can provide.

Not long after, we brought home a chicken to satisfy our daughter Brooklyn’s love for eggs. One chicken quickly turned into sixty, and Brooklyn certainly did not mind. With my lifelong love of ducks, it was only natural that they became part of our growing farm as well.

people often ask us, “why do you call it a ranch?”

The answer lies in the history of this land. The original owners maintained a horse stable and corral right where our chicken coops now stand. We have carried that spirit forward and continue to use Tap Rack Ranch as a place for gathering, training, and celebration. We have been told that Rocky Marciano and other notable boxers once trained here after staying at Grossinger’s Hotel just across the street. In another chapter of its story, couples like Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher celebrated their weddings on this very property.

Tap Rack Ranch means so much to us. It is more than a place. It is where family memories are made and where we continue to build a life rooted in connection, purpose, and well-being. Today, we offer alpaca fiber products, raw honey, fresh vegetables, and chicken, duck, and goose eggs. You will also meet our livestock guardian dogs, Bonnie and Clyde, who keep a watchful eye over the farm.

We are so glad you are here. Come be part of our adventure.

Clyde.jpg

In Loving Memory of Clyde

Clyde was a majestic Great Pyrenees and one of the most beloved souls to ever roam Tap Rack Ranch. Diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure, Clyde faced his condition with the same quiet courage that defined him every day. He defied every timeline doctors gave him, living fully and joyfully far beyond what anyone thought possible. That was just Clyde, too stubborn to quit, too loving to leave before he was ready.

He passed away in November 2025, leaving behind a ranch that is quieter without him, and hearts that are fuller for having known him.

Clyde didn't just guard the land, he guarded the spirit while weaving his own with the land and his family. He will never be forgotten.

Forever part of the ranch. Forever in our hearts.
